For the last three years I've tried to
go to the Honda Hoot in Knoxville. Owning my own business, being Dad
to five
kids, homeschooling
three of them, and on and on... have all kept me from being able to break
away and go. Well, this year I managed to make a quick run to the Hoot.
Granted, I didn't spend the whole week and make all the festivities,
but I did get a good taste of the event and had a great ride to Knoxville
and
back. I was able to go down on Thursday June 19 and head back on Saturday.
Blair, an old acquaintance from elementary school, was kind enough
to let me spend the two nights at the cabin that he, his wife, their
daughter and his wife's parents were already staying. They had gone down
to spend
the whole week in Knoxville and attend all of the Honda Hoot. I'm putting these pages together a couple of weeks after the trip (see
paragraph 1 - work, kids, no time, etc.) so I've forgotten some of the
details. I've wanted to do something like these pages ever since I ran
across another Nighthawk owner's pages about one of his road trips. I just
thought it was interesting to read and see images from someone's ride
- kind of an inspiration, if you will. Not that I'm going to inspire anyone
to become an "Easy Rider," but this might give someone that push to get
out and take a short road trip to enjoy their two wheels and this beautiful
country God's given us.
I hope you enjoy my little journal and pictures I took along the way.
